Flintstones Bar-B-Q
Tweet
Inside Universal Studios Hollywood, appropriately near the Flintstones Carnival Games, you’ll find the Flitstones Bar-B-Q. And most days, near the end of the line, you’ll see a menu sign that looks like this:
I try not to be critical of theme/amusement park food. Unless you are visiting a Disney property, you are probably wise enough to expect the burgers to be dry, the hot dogs to be greasy, and the churros to double as police batons. Theme park food is overpriced sustenance. We all know it. Universal Studios knows it.
So, come on. “L.A.’s Best Bar-B-Q!”? Seriously? Maybe Phillip’s on Crenshaw. Maybe J.R.’s in Culver City. Maybe J and J’s (also in Culver City). Maybe even The Kansas City BBQ Company in North Hollywood. But not the Flintstones Bar-B-Q. That’s like saying that Pinkberry is the best frozen yogurt in L.A. It’s just not. Maybe you’re at the mall, and maybe you really want some fro-yo. In that case, you’re going to eat some Pinkberry because that’s your only choice.
For the sake of honesty, I suggest that Universal Studios changes the sign to look like this:
Personally, I don’t think it would affect sales in any way.
