Giant Skillets at Silver Dollar City
Tweet
This summer, I visited Branson, Missouri with some friends and family. One of our stops was Silver Dollar City, a frontier-themed amusement park. The food there is amazing, and that’s pretty much the whole reason I went. Bread, candy, pastries, etc. are all made by hand, fresh, and on the premises. Peppered throughout the park are a handful of food shacks that serve one-dish, pan-fried food. Options include dishes made from corn, squash, onions, potatoes, etc. It’s all tasty.

But here’s the thing: the skillets they cook this stuff in are enormous. I mean huge.

I became totally transfixed by these gigantic cooking vessels. In fact, I kept going back and getting more just to watch them push around the huge quantities of food and scoop them into a styrofoam bowl for me. Is there anything like this around Southern California?
