Los Angeles County Fair 2009
Tweet
Opening weekend at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, CA was hot, busy, overwhelming, and awesome. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of the opening Labor Day weekend celebrated the grand opening of 2009’s festivities with $1 admission early in the day. Therefore, the thoroughfares were crowded with thrill-seekers, making it feel even hotter than it actually was.
But lest I discourage you from savoring the 2009 version of everything-on-a-stick, let me share with you some of the images of this year’s LA County Fair.

It ain’t a party until somebody busts out the giant turkey legs.

Thousands and thousands served.

Something about this “Hot Pastrami” sign just didn’t work for me on a scorching Summer day. Otherwise, I’m quite the fan of a good hot pastrami sandwich.

I’m not sure what kind of deal King Taco cut with the fair organizers, but the entire fair seems sponsored by this big fat guy wearing a crown.

I had horse cake once, and I can assure you that cow pies are better.

Ironically, the cotton candy is the only food at the fair that is NOT on a stick. Weird.
Enjoy the other photos in the gallery below, and enjoy the fair this year. Come back and comment about the best/weirdest thing you ate!
