I saw the location on Melrose in the nineties but could not bring myself to go in. It just did not feel like the original. This place gave Fatburger a run for it's money!!! I use to walk from Stanley Ave. to this place as soon as I got my allowance. I'd heard many stories of why,what happened to this hamburger mecca,but never could really verify any of it. Needless to say by the time I moved in 1995,it was never really the same in my opinion. Lines wrapped around the place all hours of the day. The burgers were absolutely amazing, perhaps the best I have ever tasted, and the fries were as good as the burgers. Anyone "in the know" realized that this was the best burger in town. For a short time, they opened another location on Melrose, which was also good, but the venture was short-lived. (I don't think they lasted more than a year or two) And then the original closed. Today, within the course of five minutes, I was elated to find that they had reopened under the "Indulge Cafe" name, then dejected to find a moment later that this location had closed as well. What a tease! I hope this isn't the last we ever hear of the mythical Mo' Better Meatty Meat Burger. T'would be a travesty.
